Edit Contracts Directly in MatterSuite | Built-In Editor

How to Make Changes to Your Contract

Unlike traditional workflows where you need to download a file, edit it separately, and re-upload it, MatterSuite lets you edit contracts directly within the platform using its built-in document editors.

How It Works

Change and editing menu

Open any contract, and you'll see the document displayed right in the Overview tab. The built-in toolbar at the top gives you everything you need to make changes on the spot, including:

  • Save, Undo, Redo - Save your changes or step backward and forward through your edits.

  • Image, Table, Link, Bookmark - Insert visual elements, tables, hyperlinks, or bookmarks into the document.

  • Header, Footer, Page Number - Add or edit standard document formatting elements.

  • Break, Column, Section Breaks - Control the document's layout and structure.

  • Form Fields - Insert fillable fields directly into the contract.

  • Find - Search for specific text within the document.

  • Comments - Leave comments on specific parts of the contract for collaborators to see.

  • Track Changes - Keep a record of edits made to the document, so changes can be reviewed before being finalized.

Any changes you make are saved directly back to the contract.

What Stage Can the Contract Be Edited At?

You can edit the contract document at any stage of its lifecycle, giving you the flexibility to make updates whether the contract is still in Draft, under Negotiation, or moving through Approval.

Restricted Contracts

If a contract has been marked as restricted, this will be clearly indicated at the top of the contract record. Only members of a restricted contract will be able to view and edit the document, keeping sensitive contracts secure while still allowing authorized collaborators to make changes as needed.
